The Mazak Integrex is a firm favourite of ours. This latest I-200 model is our 6th Integrex in total.

Another 5 Axis CNC!

Just a few months after our last CNC install Drysdale Brothers are pleased to announce the arrival of our latest machine. This one is a little bit special.

The Doosan DVF5000 is a powerful 5-Axis machine and comes fitted with a 120 piece tool changer and an 8-pallet Auto Work Changer.

This highly versatile machine provides true done-in-one production, while the AWC allows for several hours of unattended operation.

Doosan NHP 4000

Despite the ongoing pandemic and market uncertainties Drysdale Brothers are pushing on with our CNC investment program.

This month saw the addition of a new Doosan NHP 4000 supplied by Mills CNC.

This fast and powerful twin pallet machine was bought with speed and productivity in mind.

The machine is fitted with Schunk zero-point fixture clamps for instant job changes with zero setup.

Another Day, Another New Machine – Variaxis J-500

Following on from the relatively straight forward installation of our Integrex J200, our second new machine install in a week presented some additional challenges.

Unable to skate the machine through the workshop we had to call in the services of a high capacity crane to lower it through the roof instead!

This is our third Variaxis from Mazak and our 8th 5 axis capable machine. With this addition our total fleet of CNCs now stands at 15.

An additional Variaxis was the obvious choice for us. The machine will sit alongside our two other machines providing additional capacity. The added flexability of transferring existing programs quickly on to the new machine ensures maximum productivity from day one.

Features of this latest machine include:

DONE-IN-ONE machining of multifaceted workpieces up to Ø500mm with 5-axis positioning
High performance 12000rpm (11kW) spindle.
High rigidity fully supported trunnion table resists deflection enabling high material removal rates.
MAZATROL SmoothG for increased efficiency and ease of operation

Investment continues at Drysdale Brothers – Integrex J200

It has been a busy week at Drysdale Brothers. Our two brand new Mazak CNC machines have arrived!

Delivery of our new Mazak Integrex J200

The first machine is a Mazak Integrex J200. The addition of this machine brings us to a total of 5 of these fantastic 5-axis multitasking machines.

Continued investment in 5-axis technology allows us to further increase machining capacity while reducing cycle times vs conventional processes.

Our new Integrex is up and running!

Reduced setups and higher efficiencies will lead to quicker turnaround and reduced costs for our customers.

Two New XYZ CNC Machines

We have recently taken delivery of two brand new CNCs from XYZ Machine Tools. The SMX 3500 milling machine and SLX 555 gap bed lathe will support all aspects of the company. From tooling production & modification, maintenance and fabrication through to pre-ops for production work. This adds further to our extensive list of CNC capabilities.

Doosan Puma GT2100M

We have just taken delivery of a new Doosan Puma GT2100M from Mills CNC.

This highly capable CNC lathe supports power tooling and C-Axis milling. These features allow us to machine more in a single operation, reducing setup times and improving reliability. This is our second GT2100M and it takes our total number of CNCs to 14.

Filtermist

In an effort to improve air quality and reduce coolant loss through evaporation we have begun fitting Filtermist extraction units to our CNCs. Starting with our two newest machines we will begin to install this equipment on all of our CNCs over the next 12 months.

Automated Cut-Off & Grinding

Over the years it has been our goal to utilise the latest automated machinery to improve quality and reduce costs. One of the few remaining manual processes in the foundry is the cutting and dressing of castings.

As of this month things are about to change. We have just taken delivery of a brand new Koyama Barinder 400 robotic cut off and dressing machine from P.S. Auto Grinding Ltd. Accurate to 0.1mm and capable of reducing cutting and dressing times by up to 50%.

This machine is the latest in foundry technology. Along with the associated cost savings, this machine also removes the health and safety concerns associated with manual cutting and dressing.

Mazak Variaxis I-500

Earlier this year we took the decision to replace one of our ageing machining centres with a brand new Mazak Variaxis I-500. This highly versatile, full simultaneous 5-axis VMC will allow us to perform multiple complex milling cycles in a single operation. The optional twin pallet system allows continual machining with one pallet running while the other is being set. The 80 tool magazine keeps tool setting to a minimum, reducing lead-times and improving efficiency.
