Phosphor Bronze, PB2 (CC483K) is a copper base alloy with the addition of up to 1% Phosphorus. It has a higher Tin content relative to PB1 meaning it has excellent resistance to wear. As a result of these properties, PB2 is an ideal material for the manufacture of gears and wormwheels.

PB2 has good machining properties, high strength and good corrosion resistance in seawater. This makes it particularly suited to production of pump and valve components that are prone to wear or utilised in high stress applications.

PB2 also finds use in bearings operating at medium to high speeds. It also shows good resistance to impact loading or pounding.
